Juneteenth Morning Prayer Service

  • by

General Order No. 3

Juneteenth is an historical event which changed the history for people of African ancestry who, for generations, were subjugated to chattel slavery in the United States. Freedmen were illegally retained as enslaved persons in Texas two (2) years beyond Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation. General Order No. 3 announced in Galveston, Texas enforced the right to freedom for African Americans who never received the news.

The members of the Pacific Northwest Chapter invite everyone far and wide to join us for worship via YouTube for our first Juneteenth Saturday Mass at 10am lead by the Rev. Ernestein C. Flemister. Find the service bulletin HERE.

The Rev. Ernestein Flemister has been Rector at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Grants Pass, Oregon since August 2018. Rev. Flemister is a graduate of Bexley Hall Seminary and previously served as the Rector of St. James House of Prayer in Tampa, Florida.
